Chargeflow vs Justt: Chargeback Management Compared (2026) TL;DR: Chargeflow is the better fit for most Shopify merchants — easier onboarding, pay-per-win pricing, and deep Shopify integration. Justt has stronger AI-driven evidence generation and is preferred by larger / enterprise stores willing to negotiate a custom contract. Both win ~25-40% of disputes they fight, which is industry-typical. Below is the side-by-side.
Disclosure: Unholdr is independent. We don’t sell either tool, take affiliate revenue, or have any
financial relationship with Chargeflow or Justt. Our 200+ merchant clients use one or the other (or
sometimes neither). This is what we’ve learned watching them operate.
Both Chargeflow and Justt do the same fundamental job: when you get hit with a chargeback, they
automatically build and submit the representment (dispute response) on your behalf. You stop manually writing
dispute letters and gathering evidence; their software does it.
The difference is in pricing model, integration depth, and what kind of merchant each serves best.

How each one works
Chargeflow
You install the Shopify app. It pulls every dispute as soon as it lands. The system identifies the dispute reason,
pulls the relevant evidence from your Shopify store automatically (order details, customer communication,
shipping confirmation, IP/device fingerprint, refund history), builds the representment letter, and submits to
your acquirer.
Pricing: you only pay if Chargeflow wins the dispute and recovers your funds. Typical fee is ~25% of the
recovered amount. If they lose, you pay nothing — you keep your fee structure with the bank but pay no
Chargeflow fee.
Justt
You integrate via API (or Shopify app for simpler setups). Their AI ingests far more context than Chargeflow —
past disputes, customer lifetime data, regional fraud patterns, network-specific representment language. They
tune the evidence package per acquirer per reason code.
Pricing: monthly subscription plus per-dispute fees. The monthly is what you pay regardless of dispute volume;
the per-dispute often scales down at higher volumes. They argue this aligns incentives differently — they invest
in your case quality even when win odds are low.
Win rate — the metric everyone fixates on
Both services advertise win rates around 50-70%. The honest read on real-world performance:
PERFORMANCE METRIC CHARGEFLOW (TYPICAL) JUSTT (TYPICAL)
Disputes attempted All eligible All eligible
Disputes won 25-40% 25-45%
“Win rate” as advertised Higher, because they only count Higher, same reason
disputes they chose to fight
Net recovery vs. doing nothing Materially positive Materially positive
Both services are net-positive vs. doing nothing. Neither magic-wins everything. Don’t be fooled by “70% win
rate” claims — that figure usually excludes the disputes they declined to fight or that came in with bad
evidence. The true rate on all disputes you face is 25-45%.
Pricing math — when each one wins
CHARGEFLOW COST (25% ON JUSTT COST (MONTHLY + PER-
ANNUAL DISPUTES × AVG VALUE
WINS) DISPUTE)
50 disputes × $100 = $5,000 ~$500 if 40% win rate ~$6,000+ (monthly) — bad fit
exposure
200 disputes × $100 = $20,000 ~$2,000 ~$12,000-$24,000 — close
exposure
1,000 disputes × $100 = $100,000 ~$10,000 ~$24,000-$60,000 — Justt cheaper
exposure per dispute, more service
5,000 disputes × $200 = $1M ~$100,000 Negotiated, often $100K-$200K —
exposure Justt competitive
The pay-per-win model favors lower-volume stores: no risk, only pay when you recover. The monthly + per-
dispute model favors high-volume stores where the AI tuning and dedicated team produces meaningfully
better outcomes.
Integration depth and evidence quality
Chargeflow strengths
One-click Shopify install. Live within hours.
Reads everything in your Shopify backend natively — orders, customers, refunds, tracking, conversations.
Multi-gateway: handles Shopify Payments, PayPal, Klarna, Stripe in one place.
Automated triage: distinguishes “fight” from “accept” disputes based on win probability.
Justt strengths
Deeper AI on evidence ranking. Knows which evidence types perform best per reason code per acquirer.
Custom workflows per merchant. Enterprise clients get bespoke evidence templates and tuning.
Stronger on “friendly fraud” cases (chargebacks from customers who actually received the product but
disputed anyway).
Better reporting and analytics — chargeback root cause analysis, not just dispute outcomes.
Where both fall short
Neither prevents chargebacks. They respond after the fact.
Neither helps with Klarna-specific dispute portal workflow (Chargeflow handles Klarna via Shopify, but
Klarna’s dispute system is opaque enough that automation has limits).
Neither helps you with a Shopify Payments hold — they fight individual disputes, not your overall account
standing.
Need this resolved faster than 120 days? Unholdr is the only company built specifically for
Shopify Payments holds and Klarna merchant bans. We’ve helped 200+ stores, win 95% of accepted
cases, and resolve in 14-21 days. Fully refundable if we fail. We accept 10 clients per month — apply at
Multi-gateway coverage
Most merchants past $1M run more than one gateway. Coverage breakdown:
GATEWAY CHARGEFLOW JUSTT
Shopify Payments Yes, native Yes, via API
PayPal Yes Yes
Klarna Yes Yes
Stripe (direct) Yes Yes
Adyen Yes Yes
Checkout.com Yes Yes
Custom / niche Limited Strong (enterprise integrations)
For most Shopify merchants, both cover what you need. At enterprise level with non-standard processors, Justt
has the edge.
What we recommend our clients consider
When merchants reach out to Unholdr post-suspension, we often find their dispute response was either
nonexistent or done manually by a stressed founder. Both Chargeflow and Justt are massively better than
“nothing” or “manual.” The choice between them is mostly volume and operational style.
We’ve seen merchants who used neither, climb back to healthy chargeback rates after going on automation.
The recovery is rarely linear, but the trajectory matters more than the slope.
Which one should I pick if…
…I’m under $500K/year, 5-20 disputes/month? Chargeflow. Pay-per-win risk profile fits.
…I’m $500K-$5M, 20-100 disputes/month? Chargeflow. Sweet spot.
…I’m $5M-$20M, 100-500 disputes/month? Run a 60-day bake-off. Whoever wins more, wins.
…I’m $20M+, enterprise needs? Justt. Custom contracts and dedicated AI tuning make the math work.
…I want zero monthly commitment? Chargeflow.
…I want a dedicated dispute team I can call? Justt.
…I’m hemorrhaging friendly fraud chargebacks? Justt has the edge on this category.
…I’m already in a Shopify Payments hold or suspension? Neither will fix that. You need direct
Frequently asked questions
Will using Chargeflow or Justt affect my Shopify Payments standing?
Indirectly, in a good way. Both lower your net chargeback rate because they recover funds via successful
disputes. But Shopify counts gross chargebacks in your ratio, not net of recoveries. So while these tools help
your P&L, they don’t directly lower the ratio Shopify uses for risk decisions.
Can I use both at the same time?
Technically yes, but it’s redundant and creates routing conflicts. Pick one. Most merchants who switch from one
to the other do so because their volume crossed a threshold where the other’s pricing model became more
favorable.
How fast does each service respond to a new dispute?
Both ingest disputes within hours of them landing in your gateway. Chargeflow typically submits representment
within 24-48 hours. Justt within 24-72 hours with the more elaborate evidence package.
Do they help with Klarna disputes?
Both have Klarna integration, but Klarna’s dispute system is less amenable to automation than card networks.
Expect lower win rates on Klarna disputes — closer to 15-30% than 25-40%.
What if Chargeflow or Justt loses my dispute?
You’re back where you would’ve been without them — you eat the chargeback. With Chargeflow, you pay
nothing for that loss. With Justt, you’ve still paid the monthly. Neither tool ever makes a dispute worse than not
fighting it.
Will using these tools prevent future chargebacks?
Only indirectly. They include analytics showing dispute root causes (delivery issues, product quality, friendly
fraud patterns) which you can act on. But the prevention work — fraud apps, chargeback alerts, customer
service quality — is upstream of dispute response.
